Job Description - Business Manager & Accounting and Systems Consultant

Location: Cape Cod, MA (hybrid, 2-3 days a month on Cape & domestic travel required)

Your primary role is to grasp and internalize the CEO's vision, becoming a driving force in executing the business philosophies.

  • You will translate key processes into business systems that enhance client value and oversee the consistent communication of our mission and core values in all client interactions and marketing efforts.
  • Your responsibilities also include selling and individually producing the budgeted amount of consulting services while safeguarding the company's intellectual property and enforcing necessary NDAs.

Initial Deliverables - First 90-180 Days: Process Development

  • In the initial phase, your focus will be on understanding the budget and establishing weekly/monthly reporting mechanisms that drive accountability and results, enabling staff to meet or exceed customer expectations while maintaining profitability.
  • You will evaluate and recommend improvements to current communication procedures and management systems, encompassing email management, customer communication, file organization, and vendor and customer information. Additionally, you will organize and facilitate access to the internal database, leveraging it for marketable content and MCOS program development.
  • Your role involves assessing existing business practices during consulting engagements and making recommendations to strengthen client relationships and enhance business processes. Building a strong rapport with the CEO to formulate the company's Vision, Mission, and Values is a crucial aspect of this position.

Employee Leadership

  • Collaborating with the CEO, you will play a pivotal role in developing initial team deliverables and aiding in the rollout of the MCOS internal platform and operating model to both our team and clients, ensuring accountability, engagement, and success. This platform will provide clients and the organization with a clear vision and sequence of projects, allowing us to measure KPIs and ensure mutual accountability for performance.
  • You will utilize timelines to oversee day-to-day operations, hold key employees and partners accountable, and establish strong relationships.

Consistency of Execution

  • Working closely with the CEO, you will learn and implement the continuous process improvement cycle (Build, Measure, Learn) in daily operations. You will support CEO's consulting engagements by preparing timely metrics and process agendas that align with MCOS and the clients' progress.
  • Ensuring timely financial reporting and obtaining valuable feedback from clients during weekly accounting calls will be a vital part of your role.
  • You will develop key metrics to measure consultants' progress with clients, fostering a culture of accountability throughout the organization.

Performance Deliverables - Vision for Role (6-18 Months): Internal

  • In the medium term, your role will involve acting as a strategic thought partner, confidante, and sounding board for the CEO. You will help shape the company's vision and mission statements and convert the Budgeting Model into marketable documents that clearly define our value proposition.
  • Your broader managerial responsibilities encompass financial management, operational efficiency, strategic implementation, and fostering integration among team members.

Consulting: On Site/One on One Consulting

  • In collaboration with the CEO and existing staff, you will develop the pillars of consultancy, build the processes and procedures for delivering value to clients, and outline the execution timeline for each pillar.
  • Your aim is to improve existing pillars, especially in accounting and business processes. You will develop your specific lane to add value to the operation and client base, achieving your income goals. Additionally, you will develop the Human Capital pillar to provide value to our clients.
  • Your role will involve budgeting and producing billable hours with clients in the Accounting, Business Management, and Human Capital pillars, ensuring client satisfaction with 95% renewals, accounts receivable within 60 days, and additional billable hours. You will create scalable plans for training new technicians and drive organizational engagement and performance through peer groups

What We Are Looking For:

  2. Ability to support and collaborate with C-suite
  3. Strong business acumen
  4. Strong consulting and client-facing experience
  5. Strong Accounting and FPA experience
  6. BS/BA 100% required, MBA / Masters degree preferred
  7. Desire to help build and grow a business, someone who can keep up with a fast paced, changing environment
  8. CPA would be great, not required
