The EHS Coordinator is responsible for implementing, monitoring and administering the company’s overall health and safety programs. This role will conduct regular inspections and assessments to ensure that all occupational guidelines and regulations are adhered to. In addition, this role will provide training to employees on safety policies and practices.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Creating and maintaining safety procedures in the workplace, including emergency response plans and fire drills.
  • Conducting investigations into employee complaints regarding exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.
  • Developing and implementing new health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinating environmental and occupational health and safety programs.
  • Training employees in health and safety policies and best practices.
  • Conducting inspections and identifying hazards and EHS violations.
  • Providing solutions and intervention strategies for hygiene, health, and safety hazards.
  • Implementing new health and safety protocols and measures to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Monitoring operational processes and employee activities.
  • Generating assessment documentation, incident and accident reports, and health and safety manuals for compliance with EHS programs and company intiitatives.
  • Reporting to management, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Preparing and submitting health and safety compliance documents to the relevant organizations.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other employees, working as a team player.
  • Strive to perform in a highly effective manner to ensure Fischer customers receive excellent service and a quality food safe product.
  • Support Fischer Brand Values by performing in a highly responsive, collaborative, mindful, and personal manner.
  • Responsible for compliance with all Food Safety policies, procedures and standards including compliance with the following:
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
  • Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)
  • Knife Policy; Glass and Brittle Plastic Policy
  • Sanitation Procedures; Pest Control Procedure; Non-Conforming Product Procedure
  • Perform other additional duties as needed assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, safety management, or similar.
  • OSHA or similar EHS Certification
  • At least 3 years related experience in an EHS role.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and ANSI.
  • The ability to read and interpret safety data sheets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Acute attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaborative abilities.
  • Strong training abilities.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and ANSI.
  • The ability to read and interpret safety data sheets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Acute attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaborative abilities.
  • Strong training abilities.
  • Manual labor requiring moderate physical exertion, consistently need to lift, push, pull, carry, etc. up to 50 lbs; and/or use of medium weight hand tools. Involves moderate discomfort. May require special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, machines or with irritant chemicals. May also require climbing and working from ladders or in awkward positions. Employees will be required to use protective clothing and/or gear.
