Plant Safety Coordinator / Specialist (EHS)

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a proactive approach to our employee health and safety programs. This role is focused on our manufacturing facility and is key to developing, implementing, monitoring and administering proccess and practices to ensure a safe workplace at Fischer. This role will conduct regular inspections and assessments to ensure that all occupational guidelines and regulations are adhered to. In addition, this role will provide training to employees on safety policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Creating and maintaining safety procedures in the workplace, including emergency response plans and fire drills.
• Conducting investigations regarding exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.
• Developing and implementing new health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Coordinating environmental and occupational health and safety programs.
• Training employees in health and safety policies and best practices.
• Conducting inspections and identifying hazards.
• Providing solutions and intervention strategies for hygiene, health, and safety hazards.
• Generating assessment documentation, incident and accident reports, and health and safety manuals for compliance with EHS programs and company initiatives.
• Reporting to management, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, safety management, or similar along with 3 years experience in a similar role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• OSHA or similar EHS Certifications
• Detailed knowledge of relevant regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and ANSI.
• Strong training abilities.
•  Ability to flex hours to support multi-shift operations
