Department Description
The Kitchen Department is a fundamental pillar in safeguarding the food quality at fit-flavors. Our team diligently oversees the quality of ingredients from our vendors, monitors the preparation process by our prep team, and ensures the final cooked dishes meet our high standards. Within the kitchen, various stations, ranging from the dishwasher to the chef de cuisine, each play a crucial role in delivering the delightful and nutritious meals our customers have come to expect.
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Prep Cook, intended to promote professional and personal development while helping prepare ingredients for our healthy meals to-go.
As a prep cook, you will work closely with our Chef De Cuisine to ensure your prepping ingredients meet the company standard.
You will work closely with both your direct manager and trainer, who will lead you and provide you with support and resources to excel in your core job functions. Your work at fit-flavors is intended to develop you professionally while moving the business needle forward, preparing you for massive career growth!
This role is for you if you have a passion for health, helping others, and are driven to grow professionally and personally.
Education & Experience
  • Skills and experience in the culinary industry.
  • Desire and willingness to develop professionally
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Background and/or interest in health/nutrition industry
  • Willingness to put in the time and effort required to complete core job functions
Schedule
Full Time Hours:
Monday - Friday
8 hours per day (approx. 8 am - 4 pm)
Compensation$18
Physical Requirements
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to reach with arms, bend, squat, kneel unassisted.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and food safety principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Be flexible and adaptable to changes in the menu, recipes and kitchen procedures.
Station Responsibilities
  • Ability to precisely follow instructions and prep ingredients according to our kitchen standards.
  • Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients before prepping them.
  • Follow food and safety guidelines to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Prioritize and manage time efficiency to meet production schedules.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
