Shift: Off-Shift (Sunday night start, 5-day workweek, 6 PM - 3 AM, flexing between 2nd and 3rd shifts)
Job Summary:We are seeking a Machining Manager to join our client's team in Cudahy, WI. This off-shift role involves directing, supporting, and training hourly employees in producing high-quality products safely, on time, and in a cost-effective manner. The Machining Manager will be responsible for overseeing machining operations, coordinating maintenance repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct hourly employees and machining units, ensuring adherence to work instructions and assignment of manpower and equipment to meet delivery requirements.
- Provide necessary training on new machines, controllers, tooling, or when an employee requires a review of machine operations.
- Coordinate and manage maintenance repairs for both planned and unplanned equipment downtime.
- Collect and compile daily data on piece counts, hours running, setup, and downtime for accurate reporting.
- Support shift reporting through Syteline and EOS communications.
- Collaborate with Production Control and Tool Engineering to ensure the availability of required materials, prints, and tooling.
- Assist in cost reduction initiatives, process improvements, and tooling tryouts by providing necessary information and support.
- Investigate and implement corrective actions for NOD issues as required.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality requirements and other systemic procedures.
- Promote a culture of safety and good housekeeping, actively encouraging employee involvement in safety problem-solving and cost-reduction efforts.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DNR, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain positive employee relations through consistent application of company policies and participation in employee relations procedures.
- Minimum of 2 years of machining experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyman Machinist Card or 3 years of technical training.
- College-level coursework in Machining.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading.
- Ability to edit and understand CNC programs.
- Strong knowledge of machining, particularly turning equipment.
- Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.
