Summary/ObjectiveFive Stones Research Corporation (5SRC) is seeking energetic candidates to join our established and growing Huntsville-headquartered family.
Essential Functions
- Plan, develop, organize, write, and edit technical documents. These include test plans, test reports, and related documents to communicate complex, technical information.
- Ensure the standardization of all documentation is consistent with U.S. Army standards.
- Ensure regulation compliance of all documentation is consistent with U.S. Army standards.
- Assist engineers with capturing detailed work procedures for directorate operations.
- Work with teams on test specifications and documentation requirements.
- Verify completeness of test data.
- Monitor progress of test and project documents through the review process.
- Develop, document, and train technical writing processes.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance Representatives to provide document process improvement, standardization, and management.
- Work with test teams, engineers, technicians, and Quality Assurance Representatives to implement design for Six Sigma methodologies including quality risk assessments, defining Critical to Quality test items for Quality Control validation, project specific quality plan development, and capturing project Risks, Issues, and Opportunities (RIO) and the associated mitigations.
- Apply knowledge of test procedures, military standards (MIL-STDs), military specifications (MIL-SPECs), military performance specifications (MIL-PRFs), etc. as well as aerospace and other relevant standards in order to produce technically oriented documentation that meets technical writing principles, and U.S. Army Test & Evaluation Command (ATEC) and RTC standards.
- BA/BS in English, Communications, or related disciplines from an accredited college/university.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in technical writing for a research and development organization.
- Basic understanding of engineering terminology.
- Experience routinely interacting with engineers from multiple engineering disciplines.
- Ability to interface with technicians and engineers to capture technical data and procedures a plus.
- Preferred weapon system test and evaluation experience.
- Proficient user of Microsoft’s Office 365 suite of software and applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Microsoft’s SharePoint.
- Quality Assurance experience including Design for Six Sigma (DSS) and familiarization with hardware/software quality standards such as ISO9001/2015, CMMI, IPC and ASQ are preferred.
