Flanders Investment & Trade is seeking a new member for their team in New York. In this role, you will support the operational functions of the office, assist with special projects, and provide advisory services to Flemish companies looking to export to the USA. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and hands-on individual to join our small and dynamic team.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Proactively gather and screen information to support trade initiatives
• Facilitate matchmaking and answer questions for Flemish companies looking to export to the USA
• Conduct research & data gathering to report on industry trends and export opportunities
• Draft presentations and reports for key stakeholders including senior staff, external partners, and customers
• Provide support to the team, including administrative tasks
• Manage bookkeeping tasks and purchasing orders
• Maintain and update databases, and support overall office networking and relationship-building
• Assist with organizing events, such as trade missions, networking receptions, industry roundtables, etc.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree, ideally in International Business, International Relations, or a related field
• At least 2 years of professional experience in the USA, in a relevant field such as business development, event coordination, or project management
• Proficiency in MS Office and social media applications
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Comfortable interacting and quickly forming professional relationships across diverse cultural contexts
• Knowledge of Dutch is a plus, but a willingness to learn is equally valued
