Job Description
Job Summary
The Regional General Manager functions as the CEO of the region. In this capacity, they are responsible for consistent top-line growth and bottom-line maintenance/management. As the face of the brand in the region, as well as the backbone of the business in the region the Regional GM establishes the culture of the team and uses data to not only construct the ongoing strategy but is also an expert in working with the broader team and contractors to create systems and procedures to operationalize the regional strategy.
The Regional General Manager holds three primary responsibilities for FLEX:
- Ensuring the brand is properly represented across the region
- Managing all sales, marketing, and operations team members and activities
- Managing all regional financials and being accountable to monthly, quarterly, and annual regional revenue and profitability metrics
You will work hand in hand with the CEO. However, your focus will be through a 1-6 month lens, while the CEO will work through a 7-18 month lens. The CEO will bring you strategy, marketing, and sales ideas from time to time that you will be responsible for analyzing and translating into an actionable process using all resources (financial and team members) available to you.
While the CEO will bring some ideas to you, you are expected to operate independently and create and execute the business strategy yourself with minimal oversight from the CEO.

General Responsibilities (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly)
Daily
- Ensure all gym operations are prepared for classes and trainers
- Manage incoming leads, first-timers, and class follow-ups
- Engage with members and prospects who attend class
- Manage content creation from class and social posts
Weekly
- Provide weekly sales reports to the CEO
- Provide weekly studio operations report to the CEO
- Provide MXT coaches with a loom-recorded video talking through and explaining the workouts for the week.
- Coach a minimum of 20 hours of classes per week (1 MXT class is counted as 1.5 hour; this also includes non-gym related program delivery)
- Create and monitor a weekly studio operations checklist.
Monthly
- Ensure MXT & MXT programming has been created, is loaded into METHOD, and is prepared to be posted on social media 30 days before the specific program start date.
- Create and share with the CEO monthly marketing campaign / social media themes.
- Create a comprehensive social media calendar that can be presented to the CEO 14 days before the launch date of the calendar.
- Create and host a monthly community event, share this with the CEO 14 days before the month starts and promote the event beginning
- Host and moderate a monthly MXT coaches meeting to review the programming for the upcoming cycle
- Host and moderate a monthly FLEX trainer meeting to understand how we can best serve our trainer clients
- Share coaching payroll numbers with the CEO
- Hit monthly membership revenue, space rental revenue, lead, and lead to free class conversion numbers.
- Create and meet a monthly budget number for each gym.
Quarterly
- Establish and share quarterly strategies and initiatives that you feel will grow the business every month and quarter over quarter.
- Present monthly budgets for the quarter and request approval for any big-ticket spending items (equipment, events, referral bonuses, coach raises, etc.)
- Responsible for hitting a quarterly profitability number
Primary Responsibilities
Ensure the brand is properly represented across the region
- As the face of the brand in the region, you will be responsible for owning the direction of the brand from a strategic and cultural standpoint
- While a presence on social media is not required, in our world, it is the most effective and direct way to share with the market and the community how you represent the brand through your training.
- Work with all existing team members and new hires to ensure they understand the importance of representing the brand and do so in a way that reflects our core values.
Secondary Responsibilities
Manage all sales, marketing, and operations team members and activities
- Work with coaches bring on new team members (within the confines of the budget) to accomplish all sales, marketing / social media, studio operations, and business operations
- If other team members are not available to do this, or have not been hired, these responsibilities will fall back to you and require you to complete them, however, delegation, if it can be performed well, is encouraged.
- Consistently prepare and present sales, marketing, and operations updates to the CEO
Tertiary Responsibilities
Monthly, quarterly, and annual regional revenue and profitability metrics
- Responsible for top-line revenue growth

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient with core Google suite of products (sheets, docs, slides, drive), Slack
- Coaching experience
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools
Minimum Competencies
- Excellent communication skills encompassing active listening and proficient oral and written communication.
- Readiness to engage with and lead a team of part-time and full-time employees
- Capable of effectively engaging with prospects and managing multiple prospect relationships at one time
- Capable of maintaining a clean CRM environment, ensuring precise recording of relevant information that can be shared with coaches
- Ability to learn, adhere to, manage, and oversee current processes while fulfilling responsibilities.
- Willingness to operate with minimal supervision and make confident decisions that align with the brand and business objectives without approval.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 years working in a client-facing, commercial role or leadership role (BDR, SRD, Sales, Client Success, etc.) or 1 years working in a consulting role
- Health and wellness/gym management-specific experience
Preferred Competencies
- Possess an in-depth understanding of the health and wellness market, the brick-and-mortar gym business, coaching, and training.
- A willingness to constantly learn more about all of the above-mentioned areas
- Capable of establishing a strategy and operationalizing the strategy either directly or through team members
- Ability to operate and make decisions with high-level supervision from the CEO
- Ability to mobilize a team to perform tasks that are aligned with a strategy and will carry out the operations required to see a strategy come to life
- A strong presence in the market/openness to establishing a strong presence in the market as an athlete, leader, and health and wellness expert
- Effectively analyze data related to class attendance and P&L to craft a compelling narrative about the status of the gyms and any changes that need to be made.
Compensation Package
On Target Compensation: $85,000 (not including 100% paid healthcare)
Base Pay (non-variable, guaranteed): $52,500
Variable Compensation: $22,500 (~90% historic attainment) (uncapped upside)
Quarterly Bonuses: $2,500/quarter (~25% historic attainment)
100% Paid Health Insurance: ~$7,200
