FlexStaff is Hiring an Operating Room Nurse- Long Term Temp Position- Ambulatory Surgery Center- Suffolk County, NY Near Melville, NY

Our client is seeking a dedicated and Experienced OR Nurse to join their team at their multispeciality Ambulatory Surgery Center. This is a 5 month TEMP Role - 5 Days a week-for a leading healthcare facility committed to providing exceptional patient care. They take pride in their state-of-the-art facilities and their team of skilled professionals who work together to deliver the highest standards of service. This is a Monday through Friday position, no evening or weekend shifts required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to patients in compliance with standards of practice defined by ANA, AORN, ASPAN, and state practice act standards, as well as organization protocols, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise plans of care based on the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of the patient/caregiver.
  • Maintain clinical knowledge and skills competencies to facilitate patient care in accordance with current standards of practice and monitor the environment to provide safe patient care.
  • Supervise and direct patient care in a single operating room.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the facility’s ideology, mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
  • Use facility resources appropriately and avoid wasteful practices.
  • Contribute to the progress and development of the organization’s compliance program and Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties.
  • Participate in continuing education and other learning experiences.
  • Participate as a team member in support of the total perioperative process.
  • Organize nursing activities efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure patient readiness for surgery and provide comfort and reassurance to patients.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ clinical condition and psychosocial needs during the perioperative period.
  • Monitor compliance with principles of aseptic technique according to accepted standards.
  • Accurately record patient care records and other forms following policies and procedures in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year OR experience preferred. BLS/ACLS/PALS certification; can acquire after hire ASAP if do not have currently.
  • We are a multi-specialty surgery center. We have four OR's and a procedure room. Our specialties include: orthopedics (knee arthroscopy, shoulder arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction, hip arthroscopy, partial/total joint replacement, ORIF various fractures, various hand surgeries), ENT (tonsillectomy, tympanostomy with tubes, sinus cases, septoplasty), ocular plastics, cataracts, podiatry, gynecology, general surgery (open hernia repairs, lap cholecystectomy, lap hernia repair) and pain management.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $56.00 - $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
