Flint Hills Resources is Hiring a Tank Integrity Project Manager Near Corpus Christi, TX

Your Job

Flint Hills Resources is seeking a Tank Integrity Project Manager to oversee projects involving tank cleaning, inspection, repair, and facility integrity maintenance for crude oil, refined products, asphalt, gas, and chemicals. The role involves leading a project team to ensure safe, timely, and budget-compliant completion of projects, meeting all design, quality, and compliance standards. The Project Manager will handle multiple projects annually, valued between $100,000 and $7 million, using industry best practices for setting objectives, developing scope, and sourcing contractors to achieve company goals.

This role can be based in Rosemount MN, Corpus Christi TX, Wichita KS or Tulsa OK.

The Reliability and Integrity team you will be working with is a dynamic team of Project Managers and Integrity or Reliability Engineers with diverse talents and perspective, who collaboratively drive innovation, integrity and reliability across over 4000 miles of pipeline and numerous crude and product terminals.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, direct, and coordinate integrity projects with internal and external technical resources to meet all safety, compliance, budget, schedule, functionality, and quality requirements, exceeding company and industry standards and expectations.
  • Collaborate with the project team and Asset Owners to develop and prepare project scopes, cost estimates, and execution plans for integrity and repair projects.
  • Develop and implement project plans that include risk-assessed cost estimates, contracting strategies, fabrication and construction, quality assurance, pre-commissioning/commissioning, and project closure documentation to complete projects safely, on time, and on budget.
  • Report project progress relative to cost tracking/forecasting to all stakeholders.
  • Manage labor and material to prevent cost overruns.
  • Develop industry and continuing education knowledge to leverage learnings across asset systems.
  • Maintain and demonstrate a high regard for the safe operation of company assets, personal safety, employee safety, and public safety.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, OR three (3) plus years of experience in tank and vessel integrity project management and/or tank construction.
  • Experience managing three (3) or more projects simultaneously in various phases of planning and construction.
  • Proficiency in tank and vessel cleaning, maintenance, repair, and industry standards, specifically API 650, API 653, API 510, and STI SP001.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 10 years of experience in project management, maintenance and repair, or construction of AST's.
  • Operational experience of facilities associated with hazardous liquid terminals and/or truck loading terminals.
  • Proficient in NDE testing methods (hydro testing, MT, PT, MFL, UT, etc.)
  • Proficient project estimating and cost tracking skills.
  • API 653, API 510, STI SP001 certifications.
