Florida A&M University's Department of Mathematics is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the tenure-track Assistant Professor vacancy; Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and research and a willingness to help foster the undergraduate and graduate experience at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for teaching, research, academic advice, and other university activities, including service to the department and university and performing other duties as required.
Minimum QualificationsCandidates must possess a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuary, or a closely related field; Priority will be given to applicants with a strong Statistics/ Actuary background; Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching a broad range of Mathematics courses and will also share an interest in developing interdisciplinary initiatives in Mathematics; In addition, successful applicants are expected to commit to scholarly research activities and university service firmly; and Successful applicants are expected to exhibit a dedication to fostering civil discourse while engaging all university stakeholders or performing assigned duties and responsibilities.

Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment.

Section 110.1128, Florida Statutes, prohibits employment by the State (including re-hire after a break in service) of any male born after October 1, 1962, who failed to register with the Selective Service System, under the provisions of the U.S. Military Selective Service Act, during the person’s period of eligibility (ages 18 through 25). Other Information
