POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Health & Safety/Loss Prevention Supervisor, the Loss Prevention Technician is responsible for providing guidance, training, and support to the departments and personnel at the site. This role requires frequent interaction with department employees, supervision, management, and vendors to provide service, support, and assistance when necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that security check-in procedures are followed.
• Ensure that employees, visitors, and contractors meet safety and documentation requirements prior to site entry.
• Assist departments and management staff with security and safety needs.
• Accurately maintain contractor data system and files.
• Effectively communicate with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with legal obligations and Site Safety policies and procedures using various means (i.e. telephone, two-way radio, email).
• Perform security checks of the site and other company property. Be alert and observe, correct, and report unsafe conditions.
• Intervene, as necessary, to ensure the health and safety of others in the workplace or to protect the environment.
• Administer process for key control.
• Provide site vehicle entry/exit services.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required
• 3 years of related mining experience or related security experience preferred
• Knowledgeable of current security technology and surveillance methods preferred
• Intermediate proficiency level with Microsoft Office Suite, preferred
• Must have a valid driver’s license
