Drone pilot is responsible for operating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones.
Detailed Roles & Responsibilities
- Comply with and enforce Florida Crystals Corporation’s Environmental Health and Safety Policy (EHS) (See Policy), must understand and adhere to all Florida Crystals Corporation’s policies and procedures
- Flight Operations, following flight plans or specific instructions.
- Equipment Maintenance, regularly inspect and maintain the drone to ensure is properly working
- Data Collection, capturing photos, videos, or other data using onboard cameras or sensors for various purposes such as filmmaking, surveying, or mapping.
- Safety Compliance, adhering to aviation regulations, airspace restrictions, and safety protocols while flying drones
- Problem-Solving, troubleshooting technical issues that may arise during flights.
- General knowledge of agriculture
- Associates degree in agriculture or related field preferred
- No
- Solid working knowledge of all components of agricultural operations.
- Must be able to function independently, demonstrate flexibility and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Exercise good judgment and solid thought process
- Ability to apply and adapt to practices and techniques to the special requirements of senior management
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, other management staff and senior level management
- Ability to respond to inquiries and/or complaints from team members
- Ability to use technology such as computers, mobile devices and crop management software
- Ability to comprehend technical reading materials
- Solid communication skills – requires the ability to effectively communicate verbally and written. Ability to effectively present information to senior management and team members
- Must be able to coordinate multiple duties of an urgent nature
- A valid driver’s license is required. Commercial driver’s license preferred
- Must have a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA (Part 107)
- Restricted Use Pesticide License (RUP)
- Basic Knowledge of Precision Agriculture (Preferred)
- Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)
- FCC Ag Operations
