Longer hours during month end close may be required.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the monthly close process to guarantee the delivery of financial reports, oversee monthly journal entries, and facilitate balance sheet reconciliations.
- Serve as the primary liaison for both internal and external audits, as well as for SOX audit testing, ensuring flawless communication and compliance.
- Assist accounting management in a variety of accounting functions, such as annual physical inventory, fixed assets management, intercompany transactions, and foreign consolidations.
- Exercise oversight over Accounts Payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers, while prioritizing improvements in Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) and operational processes.
- Foster collaboration with internal leadership and cross-functional managers to optimize processes and achieve organizational objectives.
- Identifying, recruiting, developing, and retaining a high-performance team of professionals; providing direction, feedback, coaching and prioritization to team.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years experience managing teams within finance or accounting.
- Excellent literacy, particularly Excel.
- Demonstrated understanding of GAAP.
- Understanding of current industry standard business intelligence solutions.
- Effective communications skills – including written, verbal and listening skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset; recognizes and resolves issues.
