Being a team player and having an ability to interact effectively with client organizations, others disciplines, vendors, and contractors in our taskforce is essential. The Electrical Design team is responsible for electrical design development of projects in the mineral processing industry. As this position is supervisory on a large scale mining & metals project it is imperative that the successful incumbent have significant demonstrated experience as a project lead on large mining & metals projects.Day to day duties:• Supervise and provide guidance to project designers• Monitor and support work performed by Fluor offices or other designated entities performing Distributed Execution Engineering• Assign work to teams, monitor and manage deliverables• Develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline design work • Develop and review project scope of service, scope of facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of project• Develop estimates and schedules, staffing requirements, progress reports, including manpower forecasts• Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts• Develop and build external relationships with client representatives and interface closely with other discipline functions promoting client service excellence• Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and Subcontracting• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria• Develop and update job execution plans• Review 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings and the 3D model using 3D Review platform • Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution• Review layouts and/or schematics for conceptual and detailed designs developed by the design group • Review fabricator drawings• Review bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations• Perform, direct and oversee audits• Prepare/review scopes of work for third party contracts• Support proposal and estimate activities• Deliver quality work, and adhere to the Operating System Requirements (OSR) • Execute project work in accordance with approved Activity Plans• Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures• Participate in personnel development through mentoring, training and annual performance related activities • Other duties as assigned• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twenty (20) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-two (22) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner• Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials• Practical field experience• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs• Two-year technical diploma required• Fifteen (15) years of experience in a mining & metals electrical design office• Able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing• Demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility in their career and have a proven track record of having led design teams in the EPCM environment• Able to work independently with minimal guidance
