Position Summary:
As a Machine Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various types of machinery used in production processes. The primary goal is to minimize downtime, ensure equipment operates efficiently, and maintain safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform scheduled inspections, lubrication, and preventive maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
· Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues with machinery and equipment, and execute repairs promptly to minimize production downtime.
· Identify and troubleshoot problems with machinery, using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic equipment.
· Replace faulty or worn-out components such as bearings, belts, gears, motors, and electrical switches by following the routine PM schedule to identify any worn parts prior to machine failure.
· Calibrate machinery to maintain accuracy and precision in production processes.
· Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance activities, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts replaced, and maintenance schedules.
· Provide training to machine operators on basic maintenance procedures to enhance operational efficiency and prevent minor issues from escalating.
· Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.
· Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or emergencies to minimize production disruptions and ensure timely resolution of issues.
· All other duties as assigned
Required and Preferred Experience, Education, and Skills
· 2-3 years’ experience in machine maintenance or a related field required. Vocational training or certification in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred, but not required.
· Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment
· Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
· Meticulousness in performing maintenance tasks and ensuring accuracy in diagnosis and repair.
· Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external vendors.
· Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed, to accommodate production schedules and emergencies.
· Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as required during maintenance activities.
· Commitment to following safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
· Experience in food-safe manufacturing environments is preferred, but not required.
· Strong interpersonal skills and consistent follow through on assigned tasks
· An entrepreneurial spirit that will enjoy working for start-up in a fast-paced environment
· Capacity to work beyond your comfort level and desire to learn new skills
· Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner
