The Opportunity As Director of People, you will be a hands-on business partner supporting a client group while leading a team of HRBPs in North America, Brazil and EMEA driving strategic HR initiatives. In this role, you’ll leadi change management efforts, fostering strategic partnerships across Flywheel, use data to make people decisions and continue to enable a world-class culture. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of global HR practices, have a strong strategic mindset, and demonstrate excellence in leadership and communication.
We are looking for someone to work 3x a week out of our Baltimore office.
What You Will Do
  • Support a client group of 200-300 Flywheelers, serving as a strategic partner to the business leader(s) for that client group
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of global HR Business Partners.
  • Ensure alignment of HRBP activities with the company's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives. This might include working with CoE partners on initiatives like implementing new compensation programs, training or talent development programs, identifying top talent, organization design, etc.
  • Ensure data in our HRIS reflects properly working with IT and HRIS teams; reporting and analytics, including supporting implementation of any new platforms as well as using data to drive business decisions
  • Build a strong team of HR business partners who deliver strong day-to-day employee support with managing larger and more complex organizational needs
Who You Are:
  • You have 10 years progressive HR experience in a global, public and matrixed organisation; experience in startup and high growth organisations is also highly valued.
  • Experienced with leading a team and enjoy developing HR professionals
  • Proactive and intellectually curious with a strong point of view on business and people issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of People Operations, and ability to work closely with compensation, HRIS, talent acquisition and operations teams to meet the needs of your client group.
  • Diagnoses problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions, striking the right balance between speed/flexibility and process/infrastructure
  • Thrives in a fast paced, ambiguous environment and can manage multiple priorities, simultaneously.
  • An inclusive approach with the ability to build and manage relationships, share knowledge and influence others
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication, strong analytic skills including MS Excel, and ability to build high-quality document and deliver presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be a hands-on practitioner & motivating people leader
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, and current employment laws.

The Interview ProcessEvery role starts the same, an introductory call with someone from our Talent Acquisition team. We will be looking for company and values-fit as well as your professional experience; there may be some technical role-specific questions during this call.
Every role is different after the initial call, but you can expect to meet several people from the team 1:1 and there might be further skill assessments in the form of a Take Home Assignment/Case Study Presentation or Pair Programming/Live Coding exercise depending on the role. In your initial call, we will walk you through exactly what to expect the process to be.
