We are looking for a Behavioral Health Emergency Services Coordinator. This postion provides clinical consultation to crisis response program (Adult and Youth) across 4 counties. Liaises with local diversion hospitals and individuals who are hospitalized as a result of their mental illnesses. Facilitates discharge treatment planning for consumers transitioning from acute care back into the community. Cover involuntary commitment process with other Certifiers across the agency. Maintains a small therapy caseload in the outpatient clinic.

This position requires a master's degree in a human services related field (social work, psychology, counseling). Independent License required in psychology, counseling or social work. Able to complete credentialing process to become a WV Certifier. Must possess a working knowledge of clinical approaches and methods for treatment of substance abuse and mental health disorders. Must possess a valid West Virginia’s driver’s license and have access to a vehicle. This position is generally Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with on-call responsibilities.

***This position pays a $1000 bonus, paid over the course of six months of active employment. The payout structure is $300 at 30 days, $300 at 90 days, and a final payment of $400 at six months of active employment. Terms will be discussed at interview.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Responsible for daily crisis response consultation and clinical supervision.

2. Reviews clinical assessment documentation completed by other FMRS staff and provides appropriate feedback and co-signature.

3. Responsible for maintaining a small therapy caseload, while maintaining credentials and certifications.

4. Maintains a schedule of activities in Carelogic, monitor alerts and resolves issues daily for self and staff. Completes all documentation timely and in accordance with agency policies and procedures.

5. Liaise daily with local diversion hospital, providing them with resources for consumers at discharge to prevent future hospitalizations. Makes rounds daily with attending psychiatric physician to consumers who are committed, acquiring knowledge to implement referrals and recommendations of the physician.

6. Facilitates discharge planning of consumers who were committed to Sharpe or a diversion hospital by linking consumers to the agency ensuring they are compliant with recommended outpatient services.

7. Conducts screening and/or certification evaluations as part of the involuntary commitment application process.

8. Maintains knowledge of current laws and regulations surrounding the state involuntary commitment process.

9. Consults with and reports to direct supervisor or other agency leaders as appropriate in order to resolve crises and minimize risk to agency.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education, Certification/Licensure and Other Requirements

1. Must have a master’s degree in a human service-related field.
