Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Machinist at FMW Solutions located in Chattanooga, TN. The Machinist will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with operating and maintaining machinery in the manufacturing and repair of railroad equipment. This includes setting up and operating machine tools, fabricating parts, and conducting quality control inspections to ensure compliance with specifications. The role will also involve reading and interpreting blueprints, conducting preventive maintenance on equipment, and troubleshooting and resolving issues that may arise during the manufacturing process.

Qualifications

• Experience in operating and maintaining machinery in a manufacturing or repair environment
• Knowledge of machine tools and the ability to set up and operate them
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct quality control inspections
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the manufacturing process
• Good manual dexterity and physical stamina
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to following safety protocols
• Experience in the railroad industry or with historic equipment restoration is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
