SUMMARY: As a Hotel Banquet Server, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of banquet and catering events hosted at our hotel. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional service to guests, delivering a seamless and memorable dining experience. From setting up banquet rooms to serving food and beverages with finesse, you will contribute to the overall satisfaction of our guests and uphold the high standards of our establishment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:· Event Setup: Collaborate with the banquet team to set up banquet rooms according to event specifications. This includes arranging tables, chairs, linens, and decorations to create an inviting atmosphere for guests.· Guest Reception: Welcome guests upon arrival with a warm and friendly demeanor. Escort them to their assigned tables and present them with menus, providing any necessary assistance or information.· Order Taking: Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring attention to detail and confirming special dietary requirements or preferences.· Service Excellence: Serve plated meals or buffet-style offerings to guests in a timely and professional manner, adhering to proper serving etiquette and presentation standards. Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to requests or inquiries.· Table Maintenance: Monitor table settings throughout the event, clearing empty plates and glasses, refilling beverages, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area.· Event Support: Assist with the breakdown and cleanup of banquet rooms at the conclusion of events, including clearing tables, removing decorations, and returning equipment to storage areas.· Team Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen and catering/event staff to coordinate food and beverage service, ensuring smooth execution of events and guest satisfaction.· Compliance: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards, as well as hotel policies and procedures, to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for guests and team members.· Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.· Perform other related services and duties as assigned by supervisor and management. REQUIREMENTS:· Experience: Previous experience in banquet or catering service is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for candidates with a strong desire to learn and grow in the hospitality industry.· Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members in a professional manner.· Multitasking Abilities: Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, ensuring efficient service delivery during events.· Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate event schedules and guest needs.· Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift, and carry trays of food and beverages, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.· Be able to certify for food and beverage handling training certificates. · Education: High school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred.
