Food City / KVAT Foods Inc. is Hiring an Ace Lead Sales Associate Near Newport, TN

JOB SUMMARY: Upholds the Core Values as determined by the management team. Primary responsibility is to Amaze Every Customer Every Time. The Lead Sales Associate is responsible for engaging the customer, determining their needs, and projecting requirements. Additional requirements include responsibility of all Sales Associates, and for the receipt and disbursement of money for sales transactions for all Sales Associates, assist in daily operations at the cash wrap area (e.g. draw count), and help to train new Sales Associates. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Ensure each customer receives outstanding service which follows the S.A.L.E.S process and by mystery shop standards Greet customers as they enter the store Troubleshoot point of sale problems Effectively train and direct the activities of cashier assigned to the front end and set the standard for customer service Ensure that associates assigned to the front-end consistently follow all policies and procedures including established safety procedures; communicate issues to management Perform cash pulls, make change orders and deposits in accordance with established policies Ensure that merchandise displays in the front-end area remain clean, organized, and well-stocked Ensure return merchandise is restocked to the correct product location on the sales floor and that all damaged and defective merchandise is properly labeled Answer incoming telephone calls following company’s guidelines. Page over the PA system when necessary. Tactfully and pleasantly deal with customers Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements Perform register sales transaction quickly and accurately in accordance with established cash control procedures and customer service guidelines Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by store management Solicit customers to open an Ace Rewards card, issue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers Acts as Lead Cashier without formal supervisory responsibilities in training and reviewing the work of cashiers. Assists with the work schedule of cashiers. Advise management of any personnel increases, or reduction needed. Conduct Cashiers meetings; provide training and development of new associates in the assigned department. Order and maintain all training supplies, associate uniforms, and related supplies Operates forklift, as needed, in a safe manner for the purpose of stocking and storing product. Advise management when associates violate company policies. Assist management in the interviewing of new cashiers. Relay communication to associates from management and vice versa. Assist Customers with complaints unless they require a manager. Watch for shoplifters and act, in line with company policy, that will discourage shoplifting. Review and follow company policies and procedures. Perform other assigned tasks as requested by management. Provide motivation and leadership to associates in assigned department. Always be patient and helpful under pressure with associates and customers. Provide and accept constructive suggestions and instructions. Prioritize work to keep department on task. Help unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise (as arranged by management). Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by store management displaying a “Speed is Life” attitude. Move with a sense of urgency while paying attention to the details. Cooperate with others and work well as part of a retail team, for example actively participate in daily huddle meetings, share ideas for improvement with management. Remove promotional bin tags from displays, and price tags as required following sales events, flyers, etc. Restock merchandise displays as needed, watch end caps and side wings. Handle special orders for all non-stock items. It always takes two associates to say “No.” Never tell a customer no without checking with a floor manager, Assistant Manager or Store Manager. Serve Customers in assigned departments, or storewide, and provide needed advice or information, greet customers as soon as you encounter them. Actively participate in store communication and initiatives (e.g., Communication Board, Daily Huddle, store contests, etc.) Use the Five Foot Rule – greet and/or acknowledge all customers within five feet of you all the time. Always wear your radio and headset to effectively communicate with other associates or management. Assist customers with large or heavy items as needed. Offer customers a red basket for their shopping use. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High School degree, some college preferred Prior experience managing associates and handling cash, preferably in a retail environment Ability to take leadership role in training and coaching team members on skills needed to positively impact sales Able to communicate professionally with customers and team members Skilled at providing prompt, friendly and attentive customer service Strong organizational skills with a passion for details Willing to learn all areas of the store and help train others Maintain composure while supervising multiple tasks and handling customer complaints Proven track record of being a team player Knowledge and experience of various departments is strongly desired. Knowledge of retail computer systems, electronic cash registers, Microsoft Word, and Excel, preferred A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required. Availability must be flexible including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Bilingual (Spanish) verbal and written communication skills is a plus
