• Greet customers as they arrive at the cash counter, and organize their purchases on the counter.

• Look for barcodes and price tags, and straighten them so that they can be scanned properly.

• Use assigned barcode machines and scanners to scan prices, and punch them into the system.

• Itemize all purchases and total bills, providing customers with information on total payables.

• Process both credit card and cash transactions, ensuring that proper change and receipts are tendered.

• Assist baggers in bagging customers’ purchases, and make arrangements for deliveries to be made to cars.

• Provide customers with information regarding replacement and returns, and process either or both, when required.

• Balance cash drawers at the end of each shift, ensuring that no discrepancies are evident.

• Resolve missing entries or related discrepancies on a urgent basis, before the end of the shift.

• Ascertain that sufficient change is present in the cash drawer at the beginning of the shift.

• Provide customers with information and direction to their choice of products and items.

• Assist sales associates in receiving items, and placing them on shelves in a predefined manner.'
