We are seeking a seasoned Sr. Director, Enterprise Architect to lead the strategic direction and implementation of our data architecture, ensuring data quality, and establishing robust data governance practices. You will play a critical role in driving data-driven decision making and maximizing the value of our information assets. Your role is more than a traditional Enterprise Architect. The successful candidate will design and execute sophisticated data strategies that not only ensure the integrity, availability, and privacy of our data but also optimize data flows and storage solutions to improve API performance and scalability. By aligning data architecture with business objectives, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data governance framework and supporting the development of APIs that meet our business needs.

Responsibilities:

Data & Enterprise Architecture

  • Design, champion, and implement a comprehensive data strategy and architecture that supports domain-driven design principles and aligns with business needs and technology roadmap, ensuring scalability, interoperability, and security.
  • Develop data models and database solutions that are scalable, performant, and secure, catering to the needs of API-driven applications and services.
  • Lead the establishment and governance of data quality and integrity standards, ensuring data is consistent, reliable, and supports business objectives.
  • Work closely with API developers and IT teams to ensure that the data architecture aligns with API strategies and facilitates seamless data integration and management.
  • Design and implement data governance policies and practices, focusing on compliance, data privacy, and the management of data across its lifecycle.
  • Drive the adoption of modern data technologies and methodologies, including cloud data services, big data solutions, and data virtualization, to enhance API capabilities.
  • Provide expertise on data security practices, including data encryption, masking, and access control, to safeguard sensitive information accessed through APIs.
  • Evaluate and integrate data management tools and software to improve data quality, visibility, and governance across the enterprise.
  • Build and lead a small, high-performing team of data architects and data governance specialists, fostering collaboration and a culture of data excellence.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to understand data needs, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and advocate for data-driven decision making.
  • Establish and track key data quality and governance metrics, reporting on the effectiveness of data management initiatives.
  • Deeply understand our retail business, processes, customer problems, and desired outcomes to ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture, seamlessly integrating with existing architecture to optimize the sneaker delivery experience.
  • Guide the team on best practices in building large-scale systems, emphasizing interoperability, performance, scalability, and resilience. Leverage cloud-based technologies to evaluate and choose the right tech stack for the platform.
  • Design, author, and review Enterprise Architecture standard artifacts, including guiding principles, capability models, roadmaps, standards, guardrails, patterns, landscapes, solution overviews, solution designs, and system designs.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of our data portfolio, ensuring alignment with Enterprise Architecture, sneaker culture influences, and delivery of business outcomes and key results, identifying and mitigating business, operational, and financial risks throughout the portfolio lifecycle.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in enterprise data architecture, with a focus on designing data solutions for API-driven environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of domain-driven design, data modeling, and database technologies.
  • Familiarity with API management platforms and understanding of RESTful services and microservices architectures.
  • Proven track record of implementing data governance and quality frameworks in complex organizational settings.
  • Expertise in data security principles and compliance regulations affecting data accessed via APIs.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and the capability to lead cross-functional teams.
Benefits:

The annual base salary range is $218,000 - $250,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short and long term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
