Location: Nashua, NH Shift: 1st Shift Compensation: $32-38/hr Duration: Temp to perm Job Summary: The Senior Electro-Mechanical R&D Technician will join our Advanced Products Group, playing a critical role in new product and accessory development within a small, cross-collaborative team. This position involves the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of prototype robotic systems and components. You will work onsite at our Nashua, NH office with our R&D engineering team, ensuring our robots meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Location: This is an onsite role, requiring presence at our Nashua, NH office 5 days per week. Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of robotic systems in close collaboration with engineering colleagues.
Conduct functional testing and troubleshooting of robotic systems to meet operational specifications and quality standards.
Inspect parts and assemblies for defects, ensuring all components meet quality requirements before integration.
Manufacture and rework fabricated machined components using tools like a Bridgeport mill, lathe, laser cutter, etc.
Manufacture custom wire assemblies and harnesses according to documented specifications.
Document and maintain accurate records of build processes, test results, and any issues encountered, providing feedback to improve instructions and procedures.
Assist with inventory control and management, including tracking parts usage and reporting shortages.
Assist with facility needs and moving of racks, desks, and equipment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in electronics, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
Over 7 years of experience in assembling, testing, and maintaining electro-mechanical systems, preferably in robotics or an automation environment.
Proficiency in soldering, wiring, crimping, and using hand and power tools.
Ability to use common diagnostic equipment, including an oscilloscope, DMM, power supply, etc.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document processes and issues clearly.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Experience with robotic control systems and programming is a plus.
Familiarity with PLCs, microcontrollers, and other control systems is a plus.
Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in robotic systems is a plus.
Ability to lift and move components weighing up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
