FootBridge is Hiring a Welder III Near Dracut, MA

Pay rate: $30-31/hr.
Location: Dracut MA
Schedule: Monday- Friday 7am-330pm
Essential Job Duties:
  • Perform various types of welding, including electric arc, inert gas, and heliarc, in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions on structural apparatus or metal precuts. This includes pre-heated and stress-relieved work that requires root penetration and may be subject to testing such as Magnaflux, x-ray, or pressure-tight welding.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to select the appropriate welding process, including understanding weld symbols.
  • Specialize in working exclusively with stainless steel materials.
  • Set up and calibrate the power supply with the correct welding program.
  • Weld metal components of products such as piping systems, pipes, tubes, or structural shapes using arc and arc gas welding equipment.
  • Perform simpler TIG welds by hand, ranging from 1/8 to 1/4 inch.
  • Conduct tack welds as needed.
  • Execute more complex TIG welds by hand, greater than 1/4 inch.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain welding equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Work toward obtaining company welder certification through training.
  • Plan tasks and select appropriate tools, adhering to precise limits and standards of accuracy.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions based on plans and drawings.
  • Identify and compare differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
  • Manipulate parts to meet print and dimensional specifications.
  • Ensure that completed parts meet acceptable standards and contribute to customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all prescribed safety regulations.
  • Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials by applying the appropriate welding techniques.
  • Possess knowledge of wire and filler materials used for stainless steel welding.
  • Potentially work with fixturing, Acon Table, and set up welding parameters, including amps and volts.
  • Utilize conventional and precision measuring instruments.
  • Conduct process and peer inspections as needed.
  • Perform limited electro-mechanical (E/M) assembly tasks.
  • Understand and maintain weld log
Educational and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma, preferably from a technical school.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in TIG welding.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Forklift and overhead crane certification may be required.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
  • Sit for extended periods.
  • Use hands for typing, handling, and feeling objects.
  • Communicate effectively by talking and hearing.
  • Stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs; heavier items require a two-person lift or other lifting equipment.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision acuity of 20/30 in either eye, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Environment, Job Hazards, and Required PPE:
  • Work Environment: Manufacturing setting.
  • Identifiable Hazards:
    • Exposure to welding areas with active weld arcs.
    • Working around machine shop tools, compressed gases, mechanical robotic equipment, and chemicals such as Acetone and IPA.
    • Occasional exposure to high noise levels.
  • Required PPE:
    • Welder Helmet.
    • Welder Gloves.
