Position Overview:
The Project Estimator and Scheduler for the Plumbing Services Department at Force Building Services is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, sourcing materials, and planning project timelines to ensure efficient project execution. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing logistics, and ensuring plumbing projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing project management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Review plumbing project scopes and specifications to develop accurate and comprehensive estimates.
  • Source and evaluate the cost of plumbing materials and services required for projects.
  • Prepare and submit detailed estimates for review and approval.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring all plumbing tasks are completed on time.
  • Coordinate with plumbing technicians, site contacts, and vendors to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to address any delays or issues.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee plumbing projects from development to completion.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety standards.
  • Manage technician travel arrangements and rental equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with plumbing safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Oversee and manage multiple construction, mechanical, and maintenance projects simultaneously.
  • Ensure that all projects are executed according to plan, meeting, or exceeding client expectations.
  • Enforce safety regulations and conduct regular audits of equipment, work practices, and procedures.
  • Lead and guide maintenance technicians, Client Services Project Coordinators, and other subordinates.
  • Communicate regularly with leadership and clients regarding project timelines and expectations.
  • Handle vendor management and expedite sourcing as needed.
  • Create and manage job orders, purchase orders, and job hazard analyses.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and progress reports.
  • Track project costs meticulously and input data for accurate invoicing.
  • Support the Project Coordinator and Plumbing Leadership Team with various tasks and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with HR and the training team to ensure team members have the necessary certifications and training.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in client organizations.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, meetings, and presentations with clients to understand their needs and offer solutions.
  • Continuously monitor client satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
Requirements
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in project management, estimating, and scheduling within the plumbing or construction industry.
  • Fluent in English (both written and verbal).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with plumbing safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Advanced customer service experience and willingness to represent the company to customers on-site.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills (Google, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to adapt to process and platform updates/changes.
  • Must conduct themselves with the utmost integrity and maintain high follow-through standards.
  • Able to pass a background screening and have a clean driving record.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to conduct site visits, which may involve walking, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying materials and equipment as needed, up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in various commercial settings and be on-call when needed.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Work Environment:
  • Primary work environment is an office setting, with frequent visits to plumbing project sites.
  • Must be able to adapt to changing project demands and work well under pressure.
  • Regular travel up to 50% of the time, including occasional travel by plane or car to meet with clients, visit job sites, and coordinate with vendors.
  • Must have the ability to safely operate an automobile and have a valid driver's license.
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • May be required to work on-call and outside of regular business hours.
