Organization Summary: Fordham Bedford Community Services (FBCS) is a community-based organization dedicated to serving the Northwest Bronx. In partnership with the community, FBCS seeks creative ways to strengthen families by providing a variety of programs and services. FBCS was founded in 1995 by the Fordham Bedford Housing Corporation (FBHC), based on the belief that quality affordable housing in conjunction with supportive social services, preserves families and strengthens the social fabric of our community. FBCS operates a variety of recreational, educational and social programs for children, literacy and career related programs for adults and support services for seniors in our community. Summary: FBCS and the Department of Education (DOE) view family child care as a respected and valued profession within the early care and education system in New York City. We seek to support and enhance the existing strengths of family child care as birth-4 programs that promote continuous and responsive relationships, strengthen early learning skills, build resilience, and lay the foundation for all future learning. The primary role of the Administrative Assistant is to support the entire FCC Program with the daily operations through data systems, paper records, and communications with providers and families. Responsibilities
Collect monthly attendance from providers, confirm, and enter into Sofcare.
Review twice monthly payroll to check for accuracy
Submit CAPS attendance monthly and follow up on incomplete records
Support in creating the monthly calendar and program newsletter
Support in supply and program giveaways
Receive deliveries and organize supply closets and inventories
Answer the door to greet clients and pre-screen daycare clients
Assist family workers and provider coaches with filing and maintaining up to date records.
Prepare provider mailouts as needed.
Follow up on missing documents for our files
Help finalize enrollment folders for the program and providers.
Support the Refuge House Office with additional tasks as needed.
Support the CACFP program with data entry and management
Participate in regular staff meetings to connect about individual providers, families, and coordinate all services.
Participate in Network staff professional learning sessions delivered by the Department of Education as needed.
Assist in ongoing outreach, enrollment, and all other administrative tasks supporting all FCC affiliated providers.
Support FCC Network Director in updating information in the Network databases.
Other tasks assigned by FCC Network Director and FCC Education Director.
