JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a talented and driven Electrical Engineer to become an integral part of our team. The ideal candidate will excel in designing and developing plans for MEP design services, project management, and business development. The ideal candidate will not only be responsible for designing electrical systems and managing MEP projects but also will play a critical role in developing and maintaining client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and bringing in new work. This role requires a combination of strong technical skills, project management experience, and the ability to contribute to the firm's growth through business development. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical and plumbing engineers to provide integrated MEP design solutions.
- Perform detailed electrical calculations, including load analysis, fault current analysis, voltage drop, and circuit sizing.
- Prepare and review electrical design drawings, schematics, and construction documents using AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM software.
- Ensure designs comply with NEC (National Electrical Code), local building codes, and relevant standards such as NFPA, ASHRAE, and IEEE.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring adherence to project scope, budget, and timelines.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines throughout the design and construction phases.
- Provide technical leadership during the construction administration phase, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits to ensure that installations conform to design specifications.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for clients and ensuring that their needs are met throughout the project life cycle.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging existing relationships and building new ones to bring in new projects and clients.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing project proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with internal teams to promote Foresite Group’s services and grow the business in line with company goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable design practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in buildings-related design and project management.
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months.
Skills:
- Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships, with a track record of successfully bringing in new projects.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Visual, and COMcheck.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ASHRAE, etc.).
- Strong project management skills, including budget management, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Experience in coordinating with architects, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders in multi-disciplinary projects.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient design and sustainable building practices (LEED, Green Building standards).
- Experience with lighting design and energy-efficient solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with government-related projects is preferred (i.e. GDOT, USACE, VA, etc.).4
