Job SummaryForest Lawn’s dedicated Funeral Service Department is seeking a friendly individual with a professional demeanor to become a part of the team that has the privilege of having daily face-to-face contact with the families we serve. Our Assistant Service Directors are in charge of directing funeral and memorial services, prayer vigils and overseeing visitations. This position also aids in directing public events and various day-to-day activities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Pull caskets and flowers from the Mortuary building.
- Transport flowers to the service location.
- Encourage guests to sign the Memorial Book.
- Assemble Casket Bearers and give instructions as to their function.
- Fill in for the Service Director when necessary and fulfilling the needs of the Director.
- Must have a caring and professional demeanor and enjoy helping families at a difficult time.
- Should possess excellent public speaking skills.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Ability to lift 100lbs.
- Comfortable in standing for long periods in time.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must be able to work on-site.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a previous mortuary/funeral service position.
- Bilingual- Spanish preferred.
