JOB SUMMARY

Forest Lawn’s dedicated Funeral Service Department is seeking a friendly individual with a professional demeanor to become a part of the team that has the privilege of having daily face-to-face contact with the families we serve.

Our Service assistants assist families during funeral service, providing exceptional service all steps of the service. If you enjoy meeting people from all walks of life, helping those in time of need, and offering professional service outside of a traditional office environment, this is a great opportunity to do so.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Respectfully ushering families and attendees to chapel

Distributing memory folders

Assist with casket bearing

Transport and set up flower arrangements

Direct traffic to proper parking areas.

Assist with community or special events.

Encourage guests to sign the Memorial Book.

Assemble Casket Bearers and give instructions as to their function.

Fill in for the Service Director when necessary and fulfilling the needs of the Director.

Drive company service vehicles.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a caring and professional demeanor and and enjoy helping families at a difficult time.

Strong customer service experience

Valid California Driver’s License.

Ability to lift 100lbs.

Comfortable in standing for long periods in time.

Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Must be able to work on-site.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of two years of experience in a previous mortuary / funeral service position.
