We are searching for a Senior Accountant to join a stable real estate investment company here in Greenville. This is a hands-on role with an opportunity to handle the company’s accounting operations and be exposed to a variety of work. You will be responsible for managing accounts receivable and payable, assisting with the year-end process, handling special projects, etc.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting, with a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

This is an onsite role in Greenville, SC.

Essential Duties & Functions

• Oversee the accounts receivable (A/R) process, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and reconciliation of accounts
• Manage accounts payable (A/P) functions, including vendor payments, expense reporting, and maintaining accurate records.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, ensuring all financial data is accurately compiled and reported.
• Manage third-party reporting requirements, including regulatory filings, external audits, and stakeholder reports.
• Ensure all financial reporting complies with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Prepare and analyze P&L statements, identifying key trends and variances.
• Develop cash flow projections to support business planning and decision-making.
• Accurately calculate commission revenue and expenses, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and company policies.
• Conduct variance analysis to compare actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Identify and explain significant variances, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Support the year-end close process, including preparing necessary documentation and reconciliations.
• Assist with the coordination of external audits, providing necessary information and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Handle ad-hoc/special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA require
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience working in a public and/or private accounting role
• Experience with GAAP, consolidated financial statement and payroll reporting, cash flow planning and management
• Technology and computer skills, ability to effectively use Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook with an intermediate Excel skill
• QuickBooks experience
• Attention to detail is a must
• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
• Strong organizational, project management, time management, relationship building, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task or shift gears as needed
• Ability to work independently and think critically
