Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
I. POSITION OBJECTIVE
This Staff II position’s primary objective is to provide subject expert knowledge and experience in Mechanical Integrity to set up and operate the General Electric Asset Performance Management (GE APM) software program and to train and assist other users to operate and utilize this program in Inspection management Thickness Monitoring Location (TML) and Risk Based Inspection (RBI) Analysis.
II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
APM System Basic Setup and Administration: Set up the basic operating function of the GE APM specific to Inspection for Process Piping and Equipment. Create, update, and maintain Queries within the APM system for Inspection Scheduling, Findings Distribution, and Tracking as well as resolution results. Develop and maintain GE APM Software Links to other FPC Programs as needed (AS400/MMS/KMS/MCA Workflow, etc.). Troubleshoot and Correct discrepancies, errors, and other problems to ensure that the APM System results are providing results that are correct and acceptable subject to FPCM Internal, Third Party, and Jurisdictional Audits.
APM System Inspection Management: Setting of Equipment Hierarchy (Functional Location, Unit Coding, Equipment name designation). Setting of Equipment / Piping Inspection tasks based on Inspection Test Plans Setting of Inspection Cycles within the GE APM Program. Setting and Maintaining GE APM Inspection Dashboards for Piping and Equipment Inspections, Creating, updating, and maintaining Queries within the APM system to develop and display reports for Monthly Updates to upper management.
APM System TML Management: Create, update, and maintain Queries within the APM system for TML data entry, tracking, and calculation of Corrosion Rates and Remaining Life. Development of TML Components to be utilized for Equipment Remaining Life evaluations both for Inspection Management and RBI Analysis
APM System Risk-Based Inspection Management: Update and maintain the APM system RBI Analysis Strategy Functions. Develop software links and queries to interconnect the Asset inspection results, the thickness monitoring analysis, and the Risked Based Inspection Analysis functions to allow the system to operate as a cohesive program between each of the functions.
Leadership and Staff Development: Develop and Provide Training for FPC Mechanical Integrity Personnel (engineers and Authorized Inspectors, as well as FPC Operations Group Corrosion and Maintenance Engineers). Assist GE APM Users as needed to allow overall smooth operation of the system.
THM: Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant in like new condition.
III. QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Mechanical Integrity/ Maintenance within a petrochemical or refining process field using the GE APM system with a focus on Inspection Management, Thickness Monitoring, and Risk-based Inspection analysis.
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 10 years of direct job-related experience with GE APM system (or similar) required. Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of direct job-related experience preferred. Associate’s degree with 8 years of directly job-related experience.
Technical Skills Required To Perform This Job:
  • Understanding of set up and query functions for GE APM system.
  • Knowledge of API570, API510, API653, API571, and API580/581 preferred.
  • Computer skills and knowledge (MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat) preferred.
