Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and a professional demeanor to manage front desk operations in a legal setting.

Responsibilities:

- Greet clients and visitors with a welcoming attitude

- Answer and direct phone calls

- Schedule appointments and manage attorney calendar

-Organize and maintain legal documents, including discovery and pleadings

- Communicate and coordinate with subject matter experts

-Attend trial and hearings to provide support, as needed

- Perform order entry tasks and maintain client databases

- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness

- Handle incoming and outgoing mail efficiently

- Computerize information using software such as QuickBooks

Skills:

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

- Proficiency in phone systems

- Strong organizational skills to manage client files, including organizing discovery within the casemanagment data base

- Ability to transcribe legal documents accurately

-Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel

-Experience with computerized systems & legal software

- Attention to detail for proofreading legal documents

- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
