Essential Duties, Functions And Responsibilities
  • Responds to repair/work orders; establishes priority of repairs/ diagnoses problems utilizing appropriate tools and test equipment; coordinates with other Electricians to perform specific jobs, outlines and explains work to be done and inspects completed work in accordance with applicable electric codes.
  • Implements a preventive maintenance schedule and performs preventive maintenance such as conducting routine inspections, cleaning and servicing, and making adjustments and minor repairs to prevent malfunctions and prolong the life of equipment, systems and structures.
  • Installs or removes and reinstalls wiring, power panels circuit breakers, lighting, switches and receptacles in accordance with code requirements; study blue prints and schematics, calculate electrical load; design new circuits based on the load; gain access to components and systems; perform installation; update blueprints; inspect electrical systems of structures for conformance with specifications and code requirements.
  • Maintains and repair of electric lines, motors, generators, transformers, fittings and fixtures.
  • Trouble-shoots electrical control panels, motor starters, clock and bell systems and other existing electrical equipment.
  • Plans and inspects electrical construction work; including, but not limited to reading blueprints and following a plan layout to install electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on the job specifications and codes. In some cases, will do the actual planning and creation of the blueprints for FDIHB.
  • Assists contractor/vendors by providing information regarding the existing structure, equipment, systems and required modifications; review bids and work completed by contractors/vendors for quality and conformance with specifications and codes as assigned. Processes paperwork, conducts research, answer phones, and prepare presentations and reports using various software including Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel and PowerPoint, etc.
  • Functions as a team player with other Maintenance staff on a regular basis by providing knowledge and technical assistance.
  • Keeps Inventory and orders materials for all electrical jobs; provides estimates of material and labor costs for department records.
  • Ensures safety of all workers, staff and patients and ensures all work is in compliance with current codes.
  • Consults with Department Head concerning all aspects of electrical work on the property.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Mandatory Minimum QualificationsExperience: Six (6) years of progressively responsible journey level electrical experience.
EducationCompletion of a four (4) year federally approved technical training program in electrical repair and/or maintenance AND five (5) years electrical experience; OR Current Electrician’s license of identification card to meet State regulations.
