Fort Sill Apache Companies is Hiring a Banquet-On Call Near Lawton, OK

Essential Functions

  • Portray a positive attitude under all circumstances, understand and represent the core values of Apache Casino Hotel and live the mission of providing exceptional service at all times.
  • Support Banquet Captains and team members to make certain all events and functions are set up properly, and run smoothly from start to finish, offering assistance during slack times.
  • Ability to read and understand BEO orders to confirm table setups, and placement of linens, China, glass and silver/flatware.
  • Perform setup and breakdown of various stations (dessert, buffet, coffee)
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn about service ware and how to maintain same in order to complement guest experience
  • Clear tables and return all equipment to their respective storage areas
  • Retrieve all reusable food and beverage items and place them on a separate queen transport
  • Ensure service corridor safety by transporting all equipment in the proper manner. Be responsible in the handling of all equipment and linens. Make sure all spills and breakage are attended to and reported immediately
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and awareness of sanitary practices
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to respond urgently and appropriately to any guest concerns.
  • Present a professional appearance and mannerisms.
  • Ability to transport dirty dishes and operate Banquet Dishwashing Machine.
  • Be vigilant that minors and intoxicated persons are not served any alcoholic beverage
  • Follow all operating procedures, safety and sanitation regulations and departmental procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your reporting supervisor, including cross training
  • Understand and comply with the Eye, Hi, Goodbye program.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/casino industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of Apache Casino Hotel. We are busiest during weekends and holidays, events, and peak seasons as they occur. There is a reasonable expectation you will be scheduled on duty and/or “on-call” during any of these times.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential job functions.

While performing job duties the team member may occasionally sit, and uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The team member stands for prolonged periods, occasionally working in temperature extremes, and walks, climbs or balances, and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The team member must occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and be able to carry a tray or serving dish weighing up to 50 pounds through a crowded room.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing job duties the team member is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate, and there are fluctuations in lighting due to flashing lights from slot machines and band lighting.

At a minimum, the selected candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug-screening test. Following hire, the team member will be required to obtain a local Food Handler permit and an Oklahoma ABLE license.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months’ previous experience preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to obtain an Oklahoma ABLE license and Food Handler’s Permit
