Membership Coordinator

The minimum starting pay for this nonexempt position is $17.55 per hour.

FWBG is seeking an energetic customer-service focused individual to join our Advancement team as our Membership Coordinator. The right candidate will share our values, be dedicated to the support of our mission, and want to help us achieve our vision of being renowned globally and treasured locally for exceptional and influential research, horticulture, and education.

Success in this position will require excellent people skills and the ability to positively engage with colleagues, guests, volunteers, donors, members, and potential members. The desire to strongly support and help grow the FWBG's membership program with the enthusiasm to assist with developing and executing membership campaigns will help you shine in this role. Your contribution of ideas to enhance our membership program and ability to cultivate relationships with members, donors, and volunteers will ensure you achieve a sense of satisfaction as our membership coordinator.

Key Qualifications to be considered for the Membership Coordinator Position

  • A friendly personality, positive attitude, and familiarity with team concepts to successfully collaborate with and assist others.
  • The enthusiasm and energy to welcome guests at our public events and on weekends and promote membership sales.
  • Solid relationship-building skills with ability to interface with community leaders, the science community, and board members.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, give attention to detail, follow-up, and deliver results.
  • The ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality as required of donor and volunteer relationships.
  • A personal belief in the mission and goals of the FWBG with a passion for raising funds to support its mission and vision.

Required Education and Experience

  • A minimum of one year of proven experience in administration, guest experience, and customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to accurately enter and maintain data and coordinate mailings using mail merge skills.
  • CRM management experience an asset but not required.
  • A post-secondary education is an asset but not required.

How will you use your knowledge, skills, and experience?

The Membership Coordinator will support the membership program which includes:

  • Communicating with others through calls, emails, and in-person about the membership program.
  • Staffing the membership sales table at FWBG public events and on weekends.
  • Entering and updating members data in the CRM program.
  • Organizing, printing, and mailing weekly membership acknowledgements.
  • Assist with overseeing membership event logistics and community relations.
  • Collaborating across departments to help develop and execute membership campaigns to meet membership sales goals.
  • Assist with overseeing volunteers during membership events.

This is a full-time non-exempt position, Monday through Friday. Overtime is not anticipated for this position. Some weekend and occasional evening work is required with the use of flexible scheduling. 

Job duties are performed in a professional office environment and in areas open to the public with some activities performed outside in Texas climate conditions. To perform the job duties the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and must be able to utilize a computer and telephone. This position requires personal transportation during normal work hours. Candidate must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and auto-related liability insurance.
