We are currently seeking a results-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to optimize our financial operations and drive strategic value. The AP Manager will own the full AP cycle, lead a high-performing team, and leverage technology to streamline processes, ensure compliance, and deliver accurate financial information. This individual will be a key partner to Finance, Procurement, and other stakeholders, contributing to Fortis's continued growth and success through effective cash management, data-driven decision-making, and strong leadership.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own, lead and manage the full-cycle accounts payable function including vendor and invoice management, approvals, and disbursement activities.
  • Manage in-person and remote staff.
  • Partner with Finance staff to ensure proper cash management forecasting and timing of payments.
  • Automate processes and develop best practices, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Utilize and optimize the capabilities of the ERP system (ACT/Q360) for efficient accounts payable management.
  • Prepare and review accounts payable aging reports and other financial reports as needed.
  • Administer the expense reporting system and corporate card program.
  • Work closely with the procurement team to optimize the procure-to-pay cycle.
  • Support measurement of departmental performance through data, metrics and KPI’s.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and identify opportunities for skill development.
  • Lead departmental projects and other tasks as assigned.
  • Helps improve cash flows, reduce costs and enhance vendor relationships

Required Qualifications

  • 7 years of progressive accounts payable experience including in a supervisory role.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
  • High attention to details and accuracy.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Preferred Qualification
  • Previous experience in the fire safety or construction fields

Compensation $72,000 - $108,000

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the Team member is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The Team member is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs, or balance. The Team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
