We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to join the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System on a temporary full-time basis. You will provide essential nursing care within the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS), specifically in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Acute Care, Oncology, and other critical care areas. As an RN, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality direct patient care, educating patients and the public about health conditions, and collaborating with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
WORK SITE: Atlanta VA Health Care Center (AVAHCS), 1670 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA
CONTRACT LENGHT: One Year
What You'll Do

• Provide and coordinate patient care in ICU, Acute Care, Oncology, and other critical areas.
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring all documentation is compliant with regulatory standards.
• Administer medications, monitor patient vital signs, and respond to medical emergencies as needed.
• Uphold all necessary certifications, including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and ensure compliance with state nursing licensure requirements.
• Flexibly work in various departments based on staffing needs, including during weekends, federal holidays, and variable shifts within a 24-hour period.

What You'll Bring

• Current, valid, and unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience within the past 3 years, with preference given to candidates with more than 3 years of experience or previous experience working with the VA.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Proven ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as ICU, Acute Care, and Oncology units.

What You'll Work

• The RN positions require flexibility to work varying shifts, including 8-hour and 12-hour tours.
• Typical shifts include:
• 8-Hour Tours: Day (0730-1600), Evening (1530-2400), Night (2330-0800)
• 12-Hour Tours: Day (0700-1930), Night (1900-0730)
• Short Shifts: 0700-1530, 1500-2330, 2300-0730
