Series C tech start up who recently reached a $1B valuation is seeking a Sr Accountant to support the Controller who is building out their team, and is a fantastic talent and mentor, searching for a right hand.

Your Role: Senior Accounting Project lead

As a key member of our finance team, you’ll be at the forefront of our growth, steering critical financial projects and ensuring our financial integrity. You will:

• Drive Strategic Initiatives: Lead high-impact projects, from strategic tax planning to the adoption of future accounting standards and financial benchmarking.
• Master Financial Reporting: Own the preparation of financial statements and ensure accuracy in our monthly close results.
• Champion Business Initiatives: Support and guide complex business initiatives as we launch new products and services.
• Ensure Compliance: Contribute to contract design and negotiations, aligning with US GAAP and reporting requirements.
• Review and Apply Accounting Guidance: Analyze lease agreements, identify embedded leases, and apply the appropriate accounting guidance.
• Support Global Reporting: Assist with statutory reporting requirements both domestically and internationally.
• Lead System Transitions: Advise and manage our transition to new financial systems like NetSuite.

What We’re Looking For:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification, with Big 4 experience and in-house experience highly preferred.
• 3-6 years of experience in accounting, ideally with industry experience in a software company.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, with SEC experience as a bonus.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work effectively in a team environment, and meet deadlines.
• Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft/Google suites, and NetSuite.
