Job Overview:As a Ferrous Scale Operator, you will play a critical role in the operations of our metal recycling shredder facility. Your responsibilities will include managing the scale operations for weighing ferrous materials, assisting customers, processing scale tickets, and communicating effectively with both customers and other staff. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service:
• Greet and assist customers and truck drivers as they enter the facility.
• Provide clear instructions and assistance to customers on where and how to unload materials.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally and resolve them efficiently.
• Scale Operation:
• Operate the ferrous scale, ensuring accurate weighing of incoming metal materials.
• Record weights and input data accurately into the system.
• Issue scale tickets and ensure that all transactions are processed correctly.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere to all company policies and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ensure the scale and customer area are clean, safe, and well-organized.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in scale operations, customer service, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong mathematical and computer skills.
• Excellent communication
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of standing for long periods and handling occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
