Job Description

Pay Range: $79,075.00 - $98,850.00

Job Summary:

Supervises employees, on 3 shifts, and processes in the maintenance of plant systems including but not limited to wastewater, pallet jack-forklift repair, grounds, and chemical equipment. Lead and direct wastewater operators, pallet jack repair, grounds, and facility-monitors on three shifts. Provides total leadership for site needs and reports to Maintenance Manager. Will need to work closely with Maintenance Supervisors and MRO-Planning/Scheduling department.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises and coordinates daily activities of employees in wastewater, pallet jack-forklift repair, grounds, and chemical support. Including establishing work schedules that support production activities, timely repair, and maintenance of systems to meet safety and health standards.
  • Manages preventative maintenance program to maintain site wastewater, pallet jack-forklift repair, grounds, and chemical support in a proper and safe working condition.
  • Develop, schedules, and plans for associated wastewater, pallet jack-forklift repair, grounds, and chemical support equipment.
  • Design, coordinate and optimize plant preventative maintenance programs as it relates to the wastewater, pallet jack-forklift repair, grounds, and chemical support through use of the computerized maintenance management system (SAP).
  • Coordinate scheduled PMs and maintenance with outside contractors in close partnership with the MRO-Planning/Scheduling department and Maintenance Manager.
  • Work closely with production in managing timely equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, safety standards, facility rules and regulations and safety compliance.
  • Ensures all equipment and systems are operated within applicable Federal, State, and local laws.
  • Oversee Utility capital process to improve production efficiency, safety and/or cost reduction.
  • Assist facility management in the day-to-day and long-term planning and productivity of refrigeration department and associated systems.
  • Responsible for completing all quality and safety systems checks for all job tasks.
  • Conduct training and education on the wastewater, pallet jack-forklift repair, grounds, and chemical support, as applicable/needed.
  • Help to maintain the highest quality of finished product and is a member of the facility HACCP team to help maintain sanitary equipment design and food safety standards.
  • Adhere to all company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Management of the following processes and Regulatory Requirements.
  • Plant Wastewater System and Environmental submittals.
  • Management Hazardous Materials Business Plan.
  • Management of Spill Prevention Control Countermeasures (CUPA).
  • Management/compliance of air emissions (SJVAD).
  • Water Treatment Management.
  • Water Management - Backflow Prevention.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  1. High school or technical school graduate and three to five years experience in the food processing industry.
  2. Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing and must have strong interpersonal skills, work well under pressure.
  3. Ability to interface successfully on a daily basis with all production groups.
  4. Able to evaluate employees fairly and objectively.
  5. Balanced technical/mechanical/ human resource knowledge.
  6. Working knowledge of poultry and processing equipment.
