Job Summary:

The Behavioral Interventionist (BI) III position is a combination of working one-on-one in the family home
or community with youth who struggle with behavioral management to the degree it threatens the stability of their living
situation as well as train and coach newly hired Behavioral Interventionist staff.
The families in this program have varying levels of communication, parenting, organizational, and cleanliness skill sets.
Our job is to work with all families, regardless of skill levels displayed. It is the expectation that the assigned BI continue
the case assignment, regardless of family dynamics or home conditions.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:• Provide 25-30 hours per week for one-on-one services to clients enrolled in the Behavioral Interventionist
program, following requirements and policies of agency, contracts, state regulations and COA standards at all
times.
• Maintain strong, open communication with caregivers of clients to ensure service efficacy and approval of
agenda and activities during shifts. Adhere to family routines and structure, as established.
• Provide direct supervision to client at all times.
• Assist clients through completion of daily responsibilities, activities, and living skills.
• Provide direction, coaching, and approved intervention strategies at all times.
• Actively and regularly engage with client by using approved Bruce Perry trauma-informed brainstimulating
activities.
• Adhere to the goals established in the Individualized Behavioral Objective Plan to help youth work toward and
achieve treatment goals.
• Model positive behavior and effective problem-solving techniques.
• Provide advocacy and support to clients and families.
• Complete all shift documentation the same day of a shift worked.
• Maintain strong, open communication with direct supervisor regarding services delivered, concerns, or
questions.
• Participate as an active team member by attending and participating in all scheduled staff meetings and
professional development trainings as requested by supervisor.
• Meet with client’s professional team and attend court hearings as requested by supervisor.
• Participate in monthly supportive supervision with direct supervisor.
• Maintain First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Support and participate in the monthly trainings for the BI program.
• Support and assist in facilitating the orientation and training of newly hired BIs.
• Work with Family Coordinators to assess the phasing out of clientservices.
• Be available for events that promote the recruitment and hiring of new BIstaff.
• Mentor newly hired BI staff members as needed or requested by supervisor.
• Be available for professional team meetings and observations in schools as requested by supervisor.
• Prepare and promote neuro-stimulating activities and ideas that are individualized for clients.
• If necessary, act as a regional liaison for geographically spread out service areas.
• Conduct Meet & Greets as assigned with newly hired Behavioral Interventionist staff as assigned bysupervisor.
• Conduct Shadow Shifts with newly hired Behavioral Interventionists as assigned by supervisor.
• Conduct Observation Shifts (general observations, and/or for specific concerns) as assigned bysupervisor.
• Provide exceptional Behavioral Interventionist skills, techniques, and professionalism to teach newly hired,
shadowing Behavioral Interventionists.
• Provide insight, ideas, and answer questions of shadowing Behavioral Interventionists.
• Report to supervisor any issues or concerns observed while shadowing newly Behavioral Interventionists or
observing existing Behavioral Interventionist shifts.
• Commute up to 20 miles may be required.
• Travel required to conduct home visits and attend meetings within surrounding counties, with or without
accommodation.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related human services field.
• Experience working with youth with elevated behavioral needs preferred.
• Safety holds may be necessary on clients who are at immediate risk for harmingthemselves
or others.
• Occasional twisting, bending, navigating stairs, and lifting up to 100 pounds.
• Must have smart phone (Android/iPhone) and willing to use for work purposes.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Model ethical and professional behavior at all times.
• Solid commitment to the principles of support and advocacy for foster and adoptive families.
• Willingness to collaborate and advocate for positive outcomes, using excellent interpersonal skills in multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic professional teams.
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability; able to shiftstylesto fit the needs of a wide range of cultures, people,
and organizations.
• Flexible schedule.
• CPR/First Aid Certified (preferred).
