LITIGATION PARALEGAL
If you have an affinity for software, variety, and are self-motivated, you are the type of teammate we are looking for! Foulston is recruiting for a team member to join our Kansas City location as a Paralegal. This position will work directly with the attorneys in the Litigation practice group to support the business needs of our clients in the areas of general business, real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, franchising, antitrust, and more. This is a full time, benefit eligible position.
Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting with trial preparation including witness lists, exhibits, and trial binders
  • Organizing and preparing documents for production including discovery responses
  • Analyzing documents with knowledge of eDiscovery practices
  • Preparing case and medical chronologies
  • Conducting legal research
  • Attending court with attorneys
  • Calculating legal deadlines
  • Maintaining accurate time records
  • Other duties as assigned to support the attorneys in fulfillment of the Firm’s mission.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A bachelor’s degree or AA in Legal Studies (or equivalent experience)
  • Two or more years of experience as a litigation paralegal
  • The ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail in all your work
  • Effective communication, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with eDiscovery and eDiscovery software
  • Proficiency learning and navigating both existing and new software and technologies
  • Efficient time management skills
