Reports to: Access Center and Law Enforcement Liaison Program Manager

Location: In-Person, Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Hours: Full-time, 8am – 4pm; flexibility and some evenings hours required.

Overview of the Role:

Implementing extensive field training for new Liaisons in the field, to include joint dispatches leading by example, as well as shadowing while trainee takes lead. Assisting the Program Manager with quality assurance and field observation of Liaisons on a monthly basis. Reviewing and approving documentation for quality assurance and data collection purposes. Assisting the Program Manager in the development and implementation of a standardized manual, making recommendations for effective data collection, and coordination among the same for law enforcement depts. Providing necessary co-response coverage to the law enforcement departments when a Liaison is out of the office, by serving as liaison.

Shift: Generally the hours of the job are Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM. Must have flexibility to work, train, and shadow staff between Cedar Rapids and Dubuque, between the hours of Monday - Friday, 8 AM and 9 PM. Will be required to cover for liaisons LOAs.

What you’ll do:

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services field.
  • And two (2) or more years relevant experience.
  • Or bachelor’s degree in related field with two years relevant experience
  • 1 - 3 years supervisory experience preferred
  • Comfort using computer software
  • Basic typing and data entry skills.
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills.
  • Private home office to ensure confidentiality.
  • Valid driver’s license and be insurable by the agency auto insurance policy.
  • Reliable, high-speed internet at home (Minimum 15 Mbps download speed / 5 Mbps download speed; wired internet connection required) OR the ability to work all shifts from the Cedar Rapids office.
  • Live in Iowa.
  • Live within 50 miles of Cedar Rapids, IA.
  • Pass all background checks completed by Foundation 2 Crisis Services.
  • Submit copy of college degree or transcript as required by licensure for personnel file.
  • Attend all MCO trainings within 120 days of hire (40 hours, including two (2) consecutive eight (8) hour days).
  • Successfully complete required trainings within required time periods.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in crisis services preferred.
  • Education or training in trauma-informed care preferred.
  • Experience in strengths-based practices preferred.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques preferred.
  • Ability to clearly communicate emotional support to people in crisis preferred.
  • Background in motivational interviewing preferred.
  • Knowledge/experience working in the mental health, substance use, and/or problem gambling field preferred.

The Program Coordinator will be required to complete all required trainings for the Law Enforcement Liaisons.

The LEL Program Coordinator will office out of the Cedar Rapids headquarters location with flexibility to be in the field providing training and supervisory support.
