Our client, a well known fashion brand in NYC, is looking for a creative Associate Sweater Designer to join their team on a contract basis.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the seasonal product design execution
• Develop CAD for sweater collections and adjust as needed
• Research seasonal trends, themes, color, raw materials, and styling
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Production, and Technical Design to achieve product execution and maintain design integrity
• Support in fittings
• Create design cards for first protos, including measurements and construction details
• Develop and counter source yarn/fabric and trim with production and suppliers
• Approval of lab dips and fabric/yarn submits

Skills Needed:

• High taste level and creative ability
• Ability to conduct color/print research
• Knowledge of seasonal silhouette and color trends
• Proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop
• Skilled with Excel and PLM
• Strong portfolios with sweater samples
• 2 years of experience within sweater design
