Our client, a fashion brand, is seeking a Technical Designer to join the team temporarily in their New York office! This is a full-time hour freelance role with an on-going duration.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design and Production teams to ensure proper and professional communication to all factories
• Prioritize daily and seasonal workload based on fabric/garment delivery.
• Attend initial Design handoffs for new product & complete proto specs
• Measure & prep garments for proto fitting
• Write proto fit comments
• Arrange sessions with fit models as needed
• Develop & update Product Tech Packs including tech flats as needed
• Interface with overseas factories to convey fit and construction corrections
• Spec & prep garments prior to fitting

Requirements

• 2-3 years Technical Design Experience
• Experience in tech design for eveningwear
• Strong knowledge of pattern making, grading, garment construction, sewing, technical drawing, measuring and fitting
• Experience communicating fit corrections to factories overseas and domestic
• Computer literate and tech savvy, proficient in Photoshop & Illustrator, MS Office & G-Suite
• Proficiency in RLM/ PLM system preferred
• Strong sense of urgency, can balance competing priorities with expert time management skill
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
