Our client, a contemporary apparel brand, is looking for a Design Director to join their team. This person will collaborate with design, product development and technical designers to develop, design and execute the collection.

4/5 days a week onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Perform creative research and concepting of new ideas
• Develop and launch knit downs and technical swatches
• Present concepts to leadership
• Participate in design meetings
• Choose yarns for each season
• Participate in all fittings from development through production
• Ensure deadlines with overseas factories
• Delegate and prioritize design workflow across the team

Qualifications:

• 8-10 years in a Knits, Wovens and Sweaters design capacity
• Prior experience managing and leading a team is required
• Must be at the Senior Designer level currently
• Strong Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills
• Strong sense for color and understanding of how yarns dye
• Excellent experience in concepting a collection from start to finish including
