Our client, a leading women's contemporary brand, is seeking a Designer to join their team in NYC! This role will partner with the design team to concept and design elevated soft wovens that enhance the overall brand positioning.

Responsibilities:

• Create design concepts, illustrations, and sketches.
• Communicate designs to in-house pattern maker and development team.
• Ensure timely development and delivery, closely following time and action calendar.
• Prepare design presentations for review meetings.
• Partner with cross functional teams to ensure a cohesive collection across categories.
• Participate in fit sessions and product line reviews.
• Stay up to date on fashion, culture, lifestyle, and market trends.

Qualifications:

• 3 – 8 years of experience in women’s apparel design.
• Demonstrated expertise in design concepts, practices, and procedures in women’s apparel, with a high fashion and elevated perspective
• Knowledge of garment construction, luxury fabrics, silhouette, finishing, embellishments, and trim.
• Strong color and print sense.
• Experience in freehand and flat design sketching.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Ability to manage workload around multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
• Ability to work on overlapping seasons and storylines.
• High attention to detail.
