Our client, a wholesale apparel company, is searching for a Sourcing Associate to join their NYC team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabric sourcing, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to manage relationships with global suppliers.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and source high-quality fabrics from global suppliers, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with fabric suppliers, mills, and manufacturers worldwide.
• Conduct thorough market research to stay updated on fabric trends, innovations, and competitive pricing.
• Evaluate and select vendors based on quality, reliability, cost, and production capabilities.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with suppliers to ensure the best possible outcomes for the company.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance.
• Manage fabric inventory levels to ensure adequate supply for production needs while minimizing excess stock.
• Coordinate with the production team to forecast fabric requirements based on upcoming orders and seasonal demands.
• Maintain accurate records of fabric orders, deliveries, and inventory levels.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Science, Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in fabric sourcing, specifically within the apparel industry
• Strong knowledge of global fabric markets and trends.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in using sourcing and inventory management software.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally as required.
