Position Summary: Designs, develops, and documents for the release of new products to manufacturing. Interfaces with cross-functional teams, directly interacting with the customer in order to analyze a market opportunity, create project goals, and accomplish those objectives. Responsible for both customer satisfaction and the financial performance of assigned projects. Position Responsibilities: Manages design and application work for 15 projects concurrently, including complex technology developments and difficult customer interactions. Runs projects with minimal to no oversight from management, except to highlight risk items. Helps determine justification for new projects and advancement through gate system. Assists less experienced staff in component choice, customer interaction and strategy recommendations, and presenting project information to upper management. Consistent interaction with OEM customers including critical communication and/or negotiations without management review. Establishes a project target both through internal research and direct customer interaction. Organizes the project timeline and action items including a cross-functional design, test, NPI, quality, and manufacturing team. Works to self-resolve any conflicts of both their projects and other team projects before discussion with management. Uses knowledge of Fox components to oversee fabrication of prototypes, evaluate product fitment and support vehicle calibration. Conducts design and testing, including field testing and operation of vehicles. Creates and maintains 3d models, 2d drawings, BOM’s and ECN documentation. Tracks the project to the target and reports to upper management at key milestones. Focuses on meeting the needs of the customer and project profitability requirements of the company. Willingness to work with others and coach/teach in effort to develop and support other employees’ development. Position Qualifications: Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering a related field. Experience: 7 years of experience in product development and hands-on design experience. Experience in automotive, power sports, or related industry preferred.
